The new re-designed upper emphasizes midfoot support through the use of an extended Flexion Fit forefoot and synthetic leather midfoot brace for improved stability. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan.
